James Mwangi is a Kenyan accountant, banker, businessman and entrepreneur. He is the current Group Managing Director and Group CEO of Equity Bank, the largest bank in the region in terms of market capitalization, profitability and customer base. The bank was founded in 1984. It has operations in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda and Tanzania, and is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange and Uganda Securities Exchange.
